I've got an old iBook G4 with some Linux distro on it with a broken window manager. I don't get a login screen on startup. Worth trying to repair the window manager or should I find a PPC Debian/Ubuntu distro and roll the dice with a fresh install?

it's a live, improvisational performance, too.

Didn't realise Harold Budd was still making music. If you like the sound of a slowly meandering piano with reverb and dislike adherence to the standard forms of "classical" music, he may well be your man.

I did 13000 steps on Sunday, including the March. Somehow I did 14000 yesterday despite working in an office. Black leather dress shoes are not 14000 step walking shoes.

Skyr is like 0.2% fat and so its texture is WEIRD.

Getting a new bed delivered has inevitably resulted in a bunch of other stuff getting tidied up. Gotta clear bedside tables so they can be moved so the bed can get constructed. Have to move some stuff into the spare bedroom, which means disassembling the old cat tree so we can get to the busted down storage boxes at the back of the room. It's a good thing.

Still not a fan of Alexander Rybak.

Every once in a while I check the federated timeline to see what people are talking about around the world. Weird mish-mash of programmers and Tumblr types.

Makes me wonder whether Mastodon would ever work as a workplace comms tool. Or an instance for a conference.

I quite enjoy living around the Gabba. I do worry with the exodus of the antiques centre, though, that eventually we will see a lot of the reasons to visit and live here replaced with apartments and boutique burger restaurants.

Also avocado doesn't cure cancer and "activated" almonds are bullshit too. You can't cure autism with bleach enemas, either.

It seems that one of my hobbies is to call my parents out on Facebook whenever they make some claim about a particular food having particular properties not supported by any evidence. "Coconut oil is all good fats, great for the brain!" "Oh yeah? That's not what the WHO said *links to FAO report on fats*".

But seriously, the uncritical acceptance of the woo around food is what leads to Pete Evans telling parents to fuck their kids up with bone broth soup.

About 6 minutes in to S01E24 of Star Trek we're treated to a corridor in an alien city that looks suspiciously like the hallways on the Enterprise.

Been binge watching Riverdale because Doctor Who is over, I'm up to date with Orphan Black and Game of Thrones, and Stranger Things and Agents of SHIELD aren't back yet. I didn't think I'd enjoy a gritty reimagining of the Archie universe but it's actually pretty good. Everyone's parents are major league dicks though.

Definitely soup weather. Last few nights we've had chicken noodle soup. Tonight is speck and pea.

Because we give our youngest cat scritches on her face and neck, she is convinced that that's how we show love in this house. You know she loves you when she climbs on your and starts punching you in the throat or cheek.

My NBN connection drops packets when attempting to connect to the NBN website. Current speed tests are 4-5Mbps. What a fucking joke.

Getting real sick of having the NBN but websites taking ages to load. Browser issue? LAN setup?

If the colour and contrast aren't to your liking, tell me. I have the edited RAW. I can fix it to your liking.
