@phocks I was about to tag you in this but you found it first 😅 Yeah, it's more than I would have expected, but it's manageable.
@ash I should probably see if Oracle keeps track of data in and out. I'd say it's probably in the console. Will check tomorrow.

Must be some heavyweight tooting going on.
If I understand mastodon properly, I think each instance clones the content it discovers from other instances that your members interact with (to populate your fedi timeline etc), so maybe it's not that surprising.
But if I'm right that feels pretty inefficient - but I can't think of a way you'd do it and retain decentralization without that.
@JacksonBates Yes, exactly. The instance downloads each piece of media and stores that in S3. So probably why the download/upload is about equal, because everything else is miniscule.
