As I headed out to the gym early this morning, I enjoyed how fresh and cool the weather is - we don't get much winter here but today is lovely.
@gemlog That sounds lovely. I wish we had cherry blossoms here but they won't grow here because the climate is too warm for them.
@AnnaGerber Oh! I didn't know that!
I just know our seasons are opposite.
Lots of the north is too cold (or wet) for fruit trees, but my little valley is warmer than the surrounding area.
@AnnaGerber A bank teller once told me that I don't wear coats I wear pockets, because of all the usb keys, wire cutters, hookup wire, screw drivers, hairbands (grandgirls) and so on I like to pack around.
I ordered up a mesh photog vest a few weeks ago (because she''s actually right), but it arrived far too small. I'm not a big man, but it wouldn't fit my shoulders even. I gifted a child with it and ordered an XL (or XXL?). China. We'll see...
@AnnaGerber I was up there last year around August and I totally approve of how you do "winter".
Melbourne winter just makes me sad.
@mike I enjoy winter it as a novelty when I visit Melbourne, and cold weather is so great for fashion. I have an amazing coat that I would love to wear more, but there are only a couple of weeks in the year that are cold enough for it here.
@AnnaGerber it's probably much better as a novelty than as months of oppressive gloom for sure! I could probably even get into it for a day or so here and there.
Can't say I'd miss my coats if I didn't need them though. If my wardrobe could just be a variety of shorts and t-shirts for the rest of my life I'd be fine with that.
@AnnaGerber I rugged up to go plant shopping
@tqft I bought a plant today too, but I got by with a t-shirt :)
@AnnaGerber we ventured to trinder park on the train, and bus, and back. Sun was nice but wind chilly.
@AnnaGerber conversely, today I shed a layer, because it is finally cherry blossom time and the wx is heating up! :-)
